What You'll Do

This role leads enterprise risk management activities, with ownership of asset model conversions and Asset‑Liability Management (ALM), including Cash Flow Testing (CFT) and capital projections. The position is accountable for assessing financial resilience through integrated ALM frameworks, leveraging converted asset models and scenario‑based projections to support financial strength, risk appetite, and strategic decision‑making.

The role serves as a subject‑matter expert and strategic partner to Investments, Finance, ERM, and Valuation, with responsibility for complex modeling frameworks, assumption governance, and cross‑functional initiatives. The individual is expected to operate independently at a senior level, influence decisions, and communicate results to actuarial leadership and risk committees.

This position is expected to interact broadly across all areas of the organization and serve as a coach and mentor to less experienced actuaries. The role will assist in planning and organizing both short‑ and long‑term activities necessary to achieve established goals and is expected to stay current on emerging trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics impacting the life insurance and annuity business.

  • Lead asset model conversion initiatives, including development, enhancement, governance, and maintenance of asset and liability models supporting all lines of life insurance and annuities
  • Utilize asset projection platforms such as BondEdge and/or Bloomberg, and actuarial modeling tools such as MG‑ALFA or Slope, to support modeling and analysis
  • Ensure models support multiple use cases, including Valuation, Corporate Planning, Investment Analysis, Cash Flow Testing (CFT), Principle‑Based Reserving (PBR), Reinsurance, and Capital Projections
  • Lead Asset‑Liability Management (ALM) valuations, including CFT and capital projections, ensuring consistency across asset and liability modeling frameworks
  • Monitor and incorporate evolving actuarial standards and regulatory changes into modeling and valuation processes
  • Partner with Investments, Finance, ERM, Valuation and IT to ensure alignment across modeling frameworks, assumptions, and risk assessments
  • Clearly communicate complex actuarial results and recommendations to actuarial leadership, senior management, and risk committees, translating technical analysis into actionable insights
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to less‑experienced actuaries, promoting sound actuarial practices and knowledge sharing
