Overview

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of engineers focused on delivering high-quality technology through a strong, consistent development lifecycle. In this role, you’ll be responsible for engineering performance and resource planning while also ensuring best practices are followed across the SDLC—from planning and development to deployment and support. You’ll create a high-performing environment where engineers are empowered, supported, and accountable.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a team of engineers, ensuring clarity around responsibilities, goals, and deliverables
  • Oversee engineering execution across the SDLC—ensuring consistency, quality, and velocity in delivery
  • Drive team resourcing, including workforce planning, hiring, and skill development
  • Partner with Product, QA, and DevOps to improve end-to-end delivery processes
  • Identify and address gaps in team performance, technical capability, and delivery throughput
  • Lead performance management processes: setting expectations, providing feedback, and enabling growth
  • Own capacity and demand planning—ensuring engineering efforts are aligned with business priorities
  • Support Agile planning and sprint ceremonies, and remove blockers to keep teams moving
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Promote SDLC discipline by reinforcing use of tools, code standards, documentation, and testing
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for engineering-related delivery challenges

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in software/technology engineering, including 2+ years managing or leading engineering teams
  • Proven experience driving performance and delivery across full SDLC environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, engineering velocity, and quality metrics
  • Experience with capacity planning, workforce development, and strategic hiring
  • Comfortable managing team structure and adapting to shifting priorities
  • Effective communicator with the ability to coach, guide, and support engineers
  • Track record of fostering team engagement, accountability, and growth
  • Familiarity with modern engineering tools (e.g., Git, Jira, CI/CD, monitoring tools)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy industries like insurance or fintech
  • Exposure to cloud-native environments, microservices, and DevOps practices
  • Experience leading hybrid or remote teams across multiple time zones
