Overview

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Manager to lead the transformation of our quality practices across the organization. In this role, you will shape the vision for testing strategies, frameworks, and automation architecture that enable engineers to confidently deliver high-quality software at scale. You will champion an automation-first mindset, embedding quality into every stage of the development lifecycle. As both a technical leader and hands-on contributor, you will foster a culture where quality is a shared responsibility, ensuring scalable, reliable, and future-ready solutions across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the automation-first quality strategy across the engineering organization
  • Build, mentor, and scale a blended team of SDETs, QA engineers, and QA analysts—while not hesitating to be hands-on in frameworks, pipelines, and tests when needed
  • Architect, implement, and continuously improve automation frameworks spanning unit, API, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Be an active part of integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring rapid, reliable releases alongside DevOps and Engineering
  • Drive a shift-left culture that makes quality a team responsibility: empowering engineers to own the quality of their code, while QA and SDETs safeguard critical flows with deep business knowledge and test expertise
  • Champion quality as a shared responsibility across all engineering teams, not just QA
  • Define, track, and evangelize quality metrics (coverage, defect leakage, automation ROI) that create accountability and visibility
  • Guide implementation of test frameworks and tools across the engineering org
  • Create a culture of quality ownership within the development teams
  • Stay current with QA best practices, tools, and tech, including. Potentially AI applications to enhance automation capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of QA experience with strong focus on automation, with significant hands on experience as either a Software Engineer or Quality Automation Engineer in an engineering organization.
  • 2+ additional years leading QA teams, including SDETs and QA analysts
  • Proven success implementing shift-left and automation-first QA strategies
  • Proven ability to design and implement testing frameworks and processes, with a deep experience with automation tools and frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar
  • Strong grasp of API testing and tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar
  • Experience building and maintaining tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and modern SDLC practices
  • Ability to coach and influence cross-functional teams toward a quality-first mindset
  • Clear, effective communicator with a knack for simplifying complex testing concepts

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in a regulated industry like insurance or fintech
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
