Operating within the core values and operating principals of the organization, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead and facilitate the development of technology and processes, gathering requirements and guiding business solutions necessary to meet corporate goals. This position will utilize knowledge of business unit processes and objectives to proactively suggest business solutions and/or process improvements. 

• Leads diverse audiences in Requirements Gathering Sessions for complex projects and tasks.
• Conducts both business and technical analysis as necessary for the team to be successful in planning both the project and individual sprints.
• Mentors other team members regarding requirement gathering techniques and documentation.
• Ability to lead others in use of agile project processes to accomplish business objectives.
• Assists the Analytics Engineers in establishing and implementing acceptance criteria.
• Champions validation of technical deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and quality.
• Creates Wireframes, mockups and possibly prototypes.
• Facilitates estimating/sizing and work with the team to identify dependencies.
• Functions as a liaison and subject matter expert for assigned subject areas. Assist the Data team in providing analytical support, facilitating research, questions, issues or other needs presented by the business units.
• Identifies non-functional needs such as usability, performance, security, portability and service levels.
• Proactively works with all roles on the project team to provide support as needed to ensure overall quality and success of initiatives.
• Maintains a high level of knowledge and expertise relative to AAA Life and its products, systems, and programs, and business processes.
• Handles additional assignments related to area of expertise, fill in for the Project Manager when required.
• Assists business units by performing root cause analysis on business process issues.
• Performs and document cost benefit analysis on recommended business solutions.
• Analyzes impact of system changes on business processes to ensure continuity of production procedures.
• Understands and provides insight into the relationships between business process and applications across the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science or Mathematics required.
• Minimum of 9 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience leading technical staff responsible for software implementation and delivery.
• 4 years’ experience developing software and agile project management methodologies.
• 10 years’ experience working on software products with experience on internal tools and consumer facing web applications.
• Development of storyboards.
• Familiarity with AWS services and AWS redshift or Snowflake 
• Expertise in mapping process flow diagrams involving system and people actors.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Financial Industry security and compliance standards preferred (Examples: PCI, MAR, HIPPA, SOX)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience writing SQL code and interpreting results.
