Overview

The Director of Data Infrastructure is essential in aligning AAA Life's business vision and strategy with a robust Data Infrastructure. This role provides strategic direction and guidance to translate business objectives into data-centric architectural frameworks that support organizational goals. The Director will leverage existing, new, and emerging data technologies to innovate and adapt to evolving business and operational models, emphasizing the development of data roadmaps and effectively communicating these plans to AAA Life's executives, leadership team, Clubs and partners to ensure alignment and secure necessary buy-in for successful implementation. Additionally, the Director will oversee the governance of data architecture across the organization, ensuring that the Data Infrastructure aligns with current and future business requirements, data management practices, and application roadmaps

Lead and Influence

  • Oversee and coordinate all dimensions of the Data Infrastructure program, encompassing: (1) business architecture to drive people, process, and organizational transformation; (2) information architecture to ensure consistent information sharing across the enterprise; (3) solutions architecture to strategically guide the management of the future-state solutions portfolio; (4) technical architecture to advance the technical infrastructure; and (5) security architecture to mitigate IT risks through secure information exchanges within and beyond the organization
  • Promote the business value of the Data Infrastructure function advocating for its processes and program outcomes to the business and IT leaders.
  • Develop and lead the execution of a Data Infrastructure implementation plan, aligning it with business strategy and needs Construct technology-enabled operating models, and provide viable options and visibility into execution issues.
  • Serve as a thought leader on Data Infrastructure platforms, guiding strategic technology decisions
  • Identify Ecosystems, tools and capabilities to invest in
  • Create architectural and technology strategic data roadmaps that result in stronger, more effective and more reliable business technology platforms
  • Analyze the business's economic and financials impacted by digital transformation to effectively guide data and technology investment decisions.
  • Design and construct both current and future state business models to educate and inform key decision makers
  • Oversee the creation of transition plans to facilitate the migration from the current to the future state environment across Data Infrastructure

 

Focus on Strategy and Execution

  • Demonstrate the business value of data as a key enabler of strategy formulation and a supporter of technology innovation, which drives the organization's top and bottom lines.
  • Develop, translate, advocate, support and implement business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes.

 

Research and Understand Technology Trends

  • Monitor the trends in disruptive data technologies that impact business, offering practical advice and best practices to navigate these challenges and achieve desired outcomes
  • Lead the analysis of business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on the enterprise's data and business strategy, direction and architecture.

 

Enable Enterprise Ideation and Innovation

  • Monitor and implement innovative and existing data technologies, integrating them in the business models to assess their potential, and use rapid prototyping approaches to evolve innovations.
  • Conduct technology experiments to develop new data products and services and integrating the most effective solutions into the organizations ongoing operations.

 

Determine and Help Orchestrate the Delivery of Business Outcomes

  • Collaborate with business partners to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps, fostering discussions and informed decision-making among stakeholders across the enterprise Lead analysis of the business' future-state data capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement and driving the business forward.
  • Lead and facilitate of governance, assurance and standards to guide data decision making.
  • Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with data compliance.
  • Oversee the evaluation and selection of data standards, as well as the implementation, continuous improvement, and ongoing refinement of data practices, ensuring comprehensive documentation of all architecture design and analysis efforts Consult with infrastructure, project and product teams to ensure consistency with the data architecture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 15 years of experience in the IT industry with a strong focus on application development, data architecture, cloud services, data governance, and business process optimization.
  • Leadership experience managing several direct reports, including managers.
  • Demonstrated experience in Enterprise and Data Architecture.
  • Demonstrated RFP and contract development experience
